El Grande

Set in 15th century Spain during the final days of the Reconquista, El Grande challenges players to deploy their caballeros across nine regions to claim dominance and earn the title of “El Grande.” The king’s position constantly shifts the balance of power, making every move critical. Players select from five action cards each turn to place caballeros and trigger special abilities. After nine rounds, the player with the most influence in key regions becomes the ruler of medieval Spain. This classic 1996 Game of the Year returns revitalized, now featuring two exciting mini expansions for even deeper strategy and fun.
