RETURN POLICY

We accept returns on sealed board games and accessories within 14 days of the receipt.

Payment is refunded to original purchaser and payment form. Alternatively, store credit can be issued to original purchaser or gift recipient. Original receipt must be validated and deducted.

We do not accept returns on sealed TCG or food products due to handling integrity.

We do not accept returns on Clearance, Pre-owned, or Sale merchandise.

For damaged or defective products, if a board game is received damaged or defective, we will do our best to replace with the original product. If it cannot be replaced, a store credit or qualified return will be issued.

Occasionally, damage happens during the printing and production process or while opening packs. For issues, please refer to the manufacturer’s support website and have your box’s serial number (if from a sealed box) and/or the pack serial number (not all companies provide this) and your receipt information handy for them. The manufacturer will handle at its discretion.

For shipped orders that are no longer wanted, customer assumes financial responsibility for return shipment back to us and merchandise will be credited back to their original credit card or to store credit within 24 hours of receiving the product back.

For shipped orders that arrive damaged, if possible, please reject the shipment due to damage.   Otherwise, please keep the shipping box/packaging in tact, then contact us immediately at help@bytheboardgames.com with order number and contact info. Please be prepared to provide pictures of any damages or defects. Requests after 14 days will not be accepted. 

EXCHANGES

Exchanges fall within the same guidelines as returns.  

For shipped orders, at this time, we do not have a direct exchange program. Customer will need to follow returns process and open a new order.

TRADE-IN POLICY (IN-STORE ONLY)

Trade-ins are handled on a case by case basis at the discretion of management! All trade-ins are issued by store credit to account holders only. Trader must be 18 or older and have a valid government issued ID. A maximum of 3 board games and 15 TCG singles will be reviewed at a time. Prior arrangements may be made for larger stock. Note: A qualified reviewer must be on hand. We do our best to cover every shift but we recommend to call before coming in to guarantee availability. All quotes are effective for 72 hours or until accepted, whichever comes first. All accepted trade-ins are FINAL.

We grade on several factors including, but not limited to, demand, our cost for replacement, and condition of box and components. Each item is verified for contents before final acceptance regardless of seal. We do not re-sell trade-ins as new product.

For TCG trade-ins, we follow TCGPlayer’s guide for grading and is at the discretion of the reviewer. For new sets, we have a wait time of 2 weeks from actual release date (not pre-release) to Rarely are cards considered Near Mint and each card undergoes scrutiny. Due to the rampant trade of proxies and counterfeit cards and the penalties we would incur for handling them, if any counterfeit card is verified, whether intentional or unintentional, the reviewer must reject all cards being traded in and account will be notated. If you have concerns that a card is counterfeit, please feel free to ask ahead of time and we will gladly help identify them (even if it is a personal trade between players!).
